The word emotion is derived from  the latin root emote: which means, to move. Yet, even after we have mentally moved on from a moment, our strongest emotional experiences tend to leave an imprint on our physical bodies.

This leftover residue of experience that we all face causes tension - ranging from subtle to gross- that are both physical and emotional.

 

MAYBE DELETE These often show up as a lack of presence in the body, anxiety, shame, fear or other holding patterns that seem unconscious and aren't serving forward motion.
